An apparent game-tying goal by Chris Kunitz, who whacked a second-chance shot past Ottawa goalie Pascal Leclaire at 18:34 of the second period, was immediately disallowed by an official because the net was off.
Then it went to video review.
After checking every angle, an official skated to center ice and said that, “upon review, the play is ruled that the net stayed on its moorings.” The goal, Kunitz’s second of the playoffs, stood.
And the Penguins and Senators are tied at 2-2.
Sidney Crosby and Bill Guerin assisted on the play, increasing Crosby’s NHL-best playoffs scoring lead to 12 points.
