Montreal takes 1-0 lead

April 30th, 2010

The dangerous thing about the Montreal Canadiens is their ability to protect a lead, and that was a concern for the Penguins going into Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series tonight at Mellon Arena.
The Canadiens took a 1-0 lead at 4:30 of the first period on a goal credited to defenseman PK Subban. His first playoff tally came on a shot from the right point that might have been deflected, as Tomas Plekanec and Jordan Staal were jostling for position in front of the net.
The Penguins have now allowed the first goal in four of their seven playoff games, but are 2-1 when doing so.
