3 Reasons why the Steelers will win/lose

Mark Kaboly | Tribune-Review

Here are three reasons why the Steelers will beat Tennessee Thursday night:

1. Ben Roethlisberger — Nobody has been better than Ben Roethlisberger. If he continues to play like he has, there will be nothing the Titans can do.

2. Offensive line – Yeah, I said it. The Steelers front five finally have a matchup where they will be able to dominate the Titans front seven.

3. Lawrence Timmons – Fresh off an 18-blitz performance against the Eagles in which Timmons showed he can be a difference maker, look for Dick LeBeau to send 94 after Matt Hasselbeck early and often.

Here are three reasons why the Steelers will lose to the Titans Thursday night

1. Matt Hasselbeck – I know Hasselbeck is ancient and not really playing well, but never underestimate a veteran quarterback. He could do just enough to keep the Titans in the game.

2. On the Road – The Steelers tend to play down to their opponents and especially on the road. Now, LP Field isn’t quite the Dawg Pound of old, but it could present problems for the Steelers.

3. Turnovers – It’s safe to say that turnovers can cost any team a game. But as bad as the Titans have been, turnovers might be the only way they win.

Tomlin needs to GO! Pouncey hurt again! Gaters Suck! Pick some Football players! Gilbert took out two first rounders again! Gilbert is a Gater! Dink & Dunk does not work! Fastest recievers in the league & we throw 1 yard pases! Get a game plan! This coach does not use his players to the best of their abilities. Brady would spit & jerk off for these recievers! Steelers will not win if the coach does not put the players in the best situations to win! Call plays that are detrimental to the speed of the receivers! Rooney needs to open his eyes with this coach. Being humble does not, I repeat, DOES NOT WIN GAMES!

Tomlin is turning our Pittsburgh Steelers into the Tampa Bay Bucks. Humble is NO Way to play football. This coach can not put a team away. He continues to try to win a game by 1 point. He has no football mentality, he turns the players into pansies. One goes down next one up does not make a good coach. Versatility makes a good coach. Pouncey is considered one of the best centers in the league? Someone please tell me when he played a complete season. Tomlin is a cancer. Motivators do not win football games. Coaching wins football games. His call to kick a 54 yard field goal was rediculouse. The Canuck never made anything longer than a 52 yarder at his best. Tomlin over reached tonight. The best play was to punt & play overtime. Tomlin is the main reason for the Steelers record. It has been a steady downfall for years . Tomlin has no clue. It is time to move on before the window shuts on one of the best QBs to play in football. Tomlin is waisting our time. Get rid of him before it is too late. Can anyone see this? Please respond to this blog! We need to remove this coach before it is too late! Rooney, Open your eyes. Do not fall for affirmative action. We need a coach that knowsw football. Tomlin is a dumb coach & it showed without a doubt tonight. We need acoach with fire in his belly. Not a coach that is humble for their success. As long as Tomlin is in pittsburgh, you will continue to draft Florida boys that do not play football Steeler way. Tomlin has connections in Florida that he owes people so he drafts players such as Cortez Allen. He lived with his Mom & Dad because his mother was a crackhead. I know this because my sons went to school with him. He drafts Gaters that are slow & lazey. Crfy when they get hurt & complain because things are rough. We need an offensive line to protect our million dollar QB. Not crybabies & guys that whine because things don’t go their way. Tomlin NEEDS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Glacials says:

Wow, buncie – do you hate Tomlin or what? Maybe they’re just what they seem – NOT VERY GOOD. They should be 1-4. And the Tomlin doesn’t draft the players – the GM does. Kevin Colbert – heard of him? White guy. And Cortez Allen played at The Citadel before he was drafted in 2011 – by KEVIN COLBERT.

And by the way genius – learn to spell. it’s gator receivers passes loser bucs ridiculous and wasting. Want to be taken more seriously? Learn proper English, learn to spell, and quit blaming the black coach for everything bad that happens.

YOU are an idiot! period. Your rant is riddled with grammar errors and your logic is that of a angry uneducated fan. Lastly, Tomlin’s hire has NOTHING to do with Affirmative Action.

  6. Yogi says:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are now officially…soft. They have no desire, motivation, or fiery emotions, but we are humble…according to Tomlin. We have not had a fiery defense since Joey Porter left for Miami. Every year, since he took over it’s been the same excuse, we have to look at every area of the game and come up with a fix. Fix it already! Am I the only one who hears the same thing over and over and over again! Has Tomlin not noticed that we have lost to teams with has been quarterbacks! (Payton, Carson, Hasselbeck) and we only beat Philly because Michael Vick is his own worst enemy, otherwise we would be 1-4, and we haven’t even played real teams yet! The Giants, Ravens, Bengals, and Chargers are still ahead. I agree with Buncie, can we please get a game plan! We have the fastest receivers in the game and we are throwing 1 yard passes…really? How about sending Wallace down field, I bet he takes at least two of the secondary with him, and guess what; it will probably open up the middle of the field for the rest of our receivers. That’s what NE did with old-man Moss, and it worked. It took them within minutes of an SB Championship and an undefeated season. We have young-man Wallace and don’t use him. What’s wrong with this picture? If Brady had these receivers, NE would probably go undefeated. Additionally, can we please stop playing “keep them in front of you, let them catch the ball, and then tackle them” defense! We need to get rid of Ike Taylor and the rest of our secondary, except Troy and Clark; they are the only part of our secondary that can actually cover somebody. Furthermore, can we get a defensive line that actually crosses the line of scrimmage? Since we don’t like to change up our defense, Coach LeBeau, please, please look back to the early 90’s and even the 70’s and see what the Steelers defense is suppose look like, because right now, we ain’t it. Lastly, All this points back to our coaches; they pick and use the players on the team. Coach Belichick consistently takes rookies, veterans, and has beens, and puts together a team that competes for a SB every year, Coach Belichick. And what about San Francisco, look what their coach did in just one season. Coach Harbaugh is a coach with an attitude, his team has an attitude. Coach Belichick is a coach with an attitude, his team has an attitude. Coach Tomlin is a coach that’s humble, his team is humble. Like Forrest Gump said “That’s all I have to say about that.”

We are seeing the end of an era (Bill Cowher’s) and it might be a while before we have something to cheer about again.

I agree, this team is soft and can’t live up to the Steeler reputation with the exception of a few players.

I’ve been saying for a year or two now Ike Taylor is all hype and overrated. He just get’s schooled in big games… He made Wright look like an ALL Pro last night.

I’ll still root them on, but I’m afraid it is going to be painful for a while.

It will be a long season….i do not see us making the playoffs…which is very disappointing, as the talent is there……I used to blame a lot of the offense woes on BA, but we still stall in the red zone, case in point last nights game against Titans. I have always known Tomlin might not be the best fit, he has had success with Cowher’s team and those players are starting to ware down, and non of the players that Tomlin has drafted seem to have any potential for the long hall. Pouncey seems to be hurt alot, Mendenhall seems to have issues staying healthy, the O line is a mess, and maybe its time for Mr. LeBeau to maybe think about retiring. Players are saying the D is predectable. The D lost to two OB’s that know the Steelers well, in Palmer and Hasselbeck, now what about Flaco…..he knows us well, and Brady, etc. Ive lost confidence in the team….I know it was week 5, but we are so far behind in the division (divsion games start soon, but we are at least 2 games back) already, and have not done well in the conference as a whole. HOPE things pick up…but not sure about this year!!
