We’ve seen so many bad imitations of the Terrible Towel, but the Cleveland Browns win the award … hands down.

Cleveland planned to hand out inflatable white flags to the fans that attend Sunday’s Browns/Steelers game.

Yeah, a team that’s as bad as the Browns, that probably wasn’t the best of ideas. You know — waving a white flag and all. Some may perceive that as surrender especially against a Steelers team they’ve lost 22 times over their past 24 meetings.

And the Browns acknowledged that it wasn’t a very good idea on Saturday through a team spokesman.

“After further and careful consideration, we felt it was in the best interests of everyone involved that we not have a giveaway item at (Sunday’s) game,” the statement said. “It is something that was intended to be fun for our fans and that they could rally around, and we regret that some didn’t perceive it that way. We want to thank all of our fans for their tremendous support and we look forward to seeing them out in force at the stadium tomorrow.”
