Baboons at a zoo panicked last week … but experts don’t have any idea why.

For days, the east African monkeys “just sat in the trees or on the ground, hardly moving or eating,” zoologist Wijbren Landman of Emmen Dierenpark in the Netherlands tells AFP.

The baboons are starting to improve. What caused their trauma, however, remains a mystery.

“The craziest suggestion was that it was caused by a UFO,” Landman said.
