Another assassination conspiracy theory

You won’t find any grassy knolls, KGB, Cubans or mafiosi in this novel.

But The Lincoln Deception does shed light on a secret taken to the grave by Rep. John Bingham of Ohio, who prosecuted the co-conspirators of John Wilkes Booth.

The notion that “Booth was the semi-deranged actor who thought (the assassination) all up is silly,” David O. Stewart, the author, tells Politico.

A lawyer who’s known for his nonfiction on the Founding Fathers, Stewart doesn’t give any hints about the secret or the conspiracy in “the greatest crime of our age.” He wants us to buy the book, which will be published on Aug. 27.
