Updated: Adds interview video. A Marine who lost his legs when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan had his picture taken recently with his wife. And the joy and love that Jesse and Kelly Cottle shared that day on a family visit to Idaho has gone viral, KTVB.com reports.

When the photographer, Sarah Ledford, suggested a picture in the water, Jesse didn’t hesitate to take off his prosthetics and hop on Kelly’s back. It was Ledford who posted the photo on Facebook.

“America just fell in love with Jesse and Kelly,” Ledford tells KTVB.

Jesse met Kelly while he was recovering from the 2009 attack. They were married last year.

”We represent a lot of … couples that are going through the same thing, and so it’s just an honor to be able to represent that,” Kelly says.

You can learn more about what Staff Sgt. Jesse Cottle endured in Afghanistan here.

UPDATED: You can watch an interview with the couple here.
