A new invention that fits snugly over a case of beer can keep the drinks cold without ice.

“We were complaining about how we bought cases of beer to go tailgating, and we were too lazy to get a cooler and a case of ice,” Case Coolie co-founder Nick Niehaus tells NPR’s All Tech Considered blog.

How does the 1.5 pound collapsible cooler work? An outer layer of neoprene (wet suit material) and  an inner layer made of an aluminum PET provides insulation to keep a case of beer “refreshingly cold” for at least 10 hours, its inventors claim. It sells for $29.99.

On the other hand, think of how much beer you could buy for 30 bucks.
