A new invention that fits snugly over a case of beer can keep the drinks cold without ice.

“We were complaining about how we bought cases of beer to go tailgating, and we were too lazy to get a cooler and a case of ice,” Case Coolie co-founder Nick Niehaus tells NPR’s All Tech Considered blog.

How does the 1.5 pound collapsible cooler work? An outer layer of neoprene (wet suit material) and ¬†an inner layer made of an aluminum PET¬†provides insulation to keep a case of beer “refreshingly cold” for at least 10 hours, its inventors claim. It sells for $29.99.

On the other hand, think of how much beer you could buy for 30 bucks.
