South Carolina parents credit their black Lab/shepherd mix with saving their 7-month-old from an abusive babysitter, ABCNews.com reports.
“We noticed the dog was getting very defensive when (the babysitter) was around. He would growl and stand between her and our son. His hair would stand up on the back of his neck and we knew something was up,” Benjamin Jordan tells ABC.
The Jordans set up an iPhone to watch what was going on while they were at work, thinking that the babysitter was being mean to the dog. They didn’t expect to capture the babysitter shouting expletives at their little boy, Finn. The iPhone also picked up what sounded like slapping or shaking of the baby.
Doctors said Finn was fine and alerted police.
The babysitter was convicted this week.
“Who knows how many children she has abused or how many more she would have had it not been for our dog,” Jordan says.
