Cool Serial Numbers can add up to big bucks

Quick. Pull out your cash and take a good look. You may have hit the jackpot.

Currency collectors will pay a lot of C-notes for a buck with the right serial number, The Daily Dot points out.

CoolSerialNumbers.com is seeking something “fancy“: solids (a digit that repeats eight times),  ladders (45678901), low serial numbers, (00000001 to 00000100), and much more.

The low number K 00000020 C 1935A on a dollar bill is going for $500 on the website. The most expensive item? A $5 bill (M 33333333) is being sold for $13,000.

Dave Unders, the founder of the site, shows in Paper Money that fancy serial numbers are pretty darn rare.
