The former NSA contractor who fled the U.S. and leaked secrets is “absolutely alone” in Moscow and broke, his Russian lawyer says.
“The savings he had, he has almost entirely spent on food, rent, security and so on,” attorney Anatoly Kucherena tells Rossiiskaya Gazeta. His client has been taking donations from unspecified organizations and activists, Kucherena says.
Last month, Snowden got a job with a Russian website, which Kucherena did not name “for security reasons.”
