Who uses food stamps? Red counties or blue counties?

Republican lawmakers represent more districts with high levels of participation in the food stamp program, according to a Time.com analysis of county-by-county enrollment data compiled by the nonprofit Feeding America.

The highest level of enrollment in Western Pa. is Fayette County, with more than 30,000, or 22 percent, receiving food stamps.

Across the country, 15 percent of Americans (47.7 million) are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP,  Department of Agriculture figures show.
