A honey trap for the email generation

It’s the classic honey trap with a modern twist.

FireEye, a computer security firm in California, reports that Chinese hackers got access to the foreign ministry servers of five European countries by sending their diplomats emails.

The lure? A link that promised naked photos of Carla Bruni, the model/actress/singer and wife of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Officials from the Czech Republic, Portugal, Bulgaria, Latvia and Hungary clicked, reports the New York Times, letting the hackers in Operation Ke3chang rummage around for computer users with privileged access.
