Pa. ‘time capsule’ house going viral

kenhorstIs your home so out-dated, it’s in?

A humble, 1965 ranch house in Berks County is part of “a growing phenomenon,” Vanessa Grall of Messy Nessy Chic tells CNN.

House hunters are gravitating toward “time-capsule houses,” says Jeffrey Hogue, a Realtor. “The mid-century home reminds me of bell bottoms,” he says. “If you wait long enough, they will be back in style. Mid-century homes have seen a rise in popularity over the last several years.”

This two bedroom house in the 1600 block of Commonwealth Boulevard in Kenhorst sold for $134,000 last year. It was snapped up by a “very artsy” woman who plans to preserve it, Hogue says. “She fell in love with it as soon as she saw it.”

The Mod decor would make Don Draper feel right at home.
