Poll: Residents of Illinois, Connecticut, Maryland not happy


MoveMapbyGallupAbout half would move out of state if they had a chance, according to a Gallup poll.

As you can see, states  in the Northeast — with the exception of Maine and New Hampshire —  perform poorly. In addition to Connecticut and Maryland, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts make the top 10 of would-be movers.


The poll measures wishes and reality.

Pennsylvania performs best when residents were asked how likely it is that they will move within the next year. Only 9 percent of Pennsylvanians said it was extremely/very/somewhat likely.

obesityrateInPaAccording to a Gallup poll — people were asked to, ahem, “self-report” their height and weight — Mississippi has the worst rate of obesity and Montana the least worst. The national obesity rate has increased to 27.1% from 26.2% in 2012. That makes Pennsylvanians — at 28.2% — a little heavier than average.
