A whopping 74% of the people who live in Pa. were born here, according to Census data from 1900 to 2012 charted by the New York Times’ Upshot blog. That number does not make us the calmest, however. In 2012, 79% of Louisianans were born in the Creole State; and 77% of Michiganders and 75% of Ohioans fall into the same category.
On the flip side, if you suspect that New York (63%) or California (55%) is the state that’s most in flux, you’d be wrong. Nevada has only 25% of its population born there.
