I remember their beautiful music in the sixties when I was in my teens. They were the only singers who were able to clarify and improve the sound of Bob Dylan's songs, (Blowin' in the Wind) to mention just probably the best one. Woody Guthrie's anthem 'This Land is my land', and various Gordon Lightfoot songs deserve listening to. They also did several interpretations of John Denver songs, most famous 'Leaving on a jet plane'. I recommend you to listen to the album 'The Very Best of Peter, Paul and Mary', I think you will be saying "Oh yes I know this one ". Mary Travers was blessed with a beautiful clear and pure voice, on a par with Mama Cass ( Mamas and Papas) and Judith Durham (The Seekers). She will be very much missed especially by oldies like me who were fortunate to enjoy our teenage throughout the Sixties. Enjoy!
